Oh my gosh, welcome back! Hope you're enjoying your newlywed bliss! I will come back with something more productive to help your sister, but I was so excited to see a returning familiar face!
@Amaryllis: Hi! Yeah I totally needed a break from all things wedding, but I'm WAY more well versed on the wedding websites than my sister, so I told her I'd help out :) Excited to be back in semi-planning mode!
that is a really simple dress, has she considered having a knock off/custom done? For an experienced seamtress/tailor it shouldn't be incredibly difficult.
Well, that is a beautiful dress. The best I could find for a similar shape (a-line, sash/defined natural waist) is this Allure Exclusives (style 2414). I'm not sure how much it is, but Allure is definitely in that kind of price range. It seems like a lot of the crumb catcher neckline styles have either slim or ballgowny/pickup skirts.

Hope this helps, and hope to see you around the boards more!
@Amaryllis and anyone else posting: I'm more looking for the general shape, defined waist, ruching-esque and it doesn't HAVE to have that crumbcatcher top. Basically all my sister keeps trying on is sparkly ballgowns with pick-ups (which of course, nothing wrong with that) but when she liked this one, I thought it would be a great chance to try something different.
Thanks in advance all!
Try looking at more formal bridesmaid dresses. I'm wearing a really fancy/formal bridesmaid dress. You can order most dresses in white/ivory. While $400 would be a bit much to spend for a bridesmaid, it was a steal for a wedding gown.
I found this one by Wtoo (style Holly) and I think the feel of the design is closer to the J Crew though the accent on the stop is styled a little different.

Yeah I was going to mention the Watters dresses. I think those have the general shape!
Bumping for some more ideas. Mostly looking for the sash/defined waist and a-line. It doesn't have to have the crumbcatcher top (although it is quite cute!)
@hotchildinthecity: I don't know if this is anything like what you are looking for, but my dress is from David's Bridal, but it's an A-line dress with ruching and a sash :-). I know I've posted my dress like a bajillion times before!
how about the mori lee 4524? it has the defined waist but is still a ball gown. and it has pockets!
i fell in love with this dress as soon as i put it on and ALMOST bought it - i found it for $400 and i know other bees found it for around the same price.
there is even a whole thread for it. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/mori-lee-blu-4524

DB http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Two-In-One-Beaded-Taffeta-Gown-YP3266_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Designer-Davids-Bridal-Collection it's a twofer!!
Have her check out www.whitehouseblackmarket.com, they have really simple elegant dresses for around $500!
Have you looked at Ella Bridals? I got my gown from them, most were under $1000.
@hotchildinthecity:How is your sister's dress search going? When I saw the picture you posted, the Wtoo by Watters Mimi popped into my head...

Hi, does anybody have photos of them in this dress? I'm absolutely in love with it!

Hi all,
I'm a year out of the wedding game, and I haven't been dress searching/browsing in a long time. But I'm helping my sister with her wedding planning and thought the dress experts could help me with my search.
My sister spotted the Toscana gown in the latest J. Crew catalog, but it's wayyy beyond her budget. She's more in the $1000 or less range. Anyone see anything similar to this in one of the more affordable brands?
