Our venue won’t allow us to use fake flower petals thrown down to create the look of a aisle runner. I’m trying to decide whether to make a floral aisle runner using fake flower petals or if I should buy real flower petals to throw down & somewhat cover the aisle. I have already tried making an aisle runner so while it takes a lot of time, I am okay making it. However, would buying real flower petals to cover an aisle be more cost effective? Has anyone done this and how expensive was it?

I think people who made fake flower petals have done so because lots of places wouldn’t allow real flower petals. Does your venue allow real petals?
It would seem that real flower petals would be much more $$$.
DollarTree bags hold #300 petals for $1.00 and many brides have stated that it has taken thousands of petals to make their aisle runners covered in petals.
If flowers typically have say, five petals, you would need 60 flowers for #300 petals.
#60 flowers would cost wayyyyyy more than $1.

I’ve seen petals at Sams online, it was about 5000 petals for 85 bucks

According to the previous two bees, the fake flower petals would be more cost effective. To get 5000 Dollar store petals it would only take about $17, instead of $85 for real petals from Sam’s Club. You also may need a few more than 5000, depending on how long your aisle is.

My venue allows only real flower petals, but they can’t say anything about silk flower petals if they are attached to a runner. They just aren’t biodegradable so they don’t want them thrown down and they could blow away. I’m excited to have an aisle runner made with flower petals!
