most people are gonna say that it’s a soft stone, meaning that it can scratch or crack easily and that you should look otherwise… but I plan on getting my gf one for her engagement ring. But with morganites cheapness, you can replace it often…

But I would like to see morganites as well…

@HelloCarly:  Here’s mine. It’s softer than a diamond but still hard enough to withstand every day wear and tear. It’s up there with quartz, emerald, and honestly, I’m fine with it. If it has imperfections, it only makes it more beautiful.

Morganite owner here. I love mine but knowing what I know now, I’d get one with better color as mine had been bleached out/faded. I haven’t noticed any scratches so I can’t speak about that.
I knew of one bee that got another stone the same size and color as her stone in her engagement ring for a backup.

Oh and this is my ring after two years of daily wear and living in socal.

I just ordered one!!! I won’t have mine till the end of January.  Seeing all the beautiful morganite on here had totally made me want one! 🙂 My dh bought it for me for Christmas, but he didn’t order it because he didn’t know my size…so he told me to order it.

Oh…on the mohs hardness scale it’s about 7-7.5..so it’s fine for everday wear, I have a couple aquamarine rings (same hardness as morganite) and they have held up very good. I wouldn’t be worried to wear my ring everyday.

Keep posting pics of your rings!!

I just joined the club! I bought a loose morganite:

I THINK I am going to have it set like this:

I saw a gorgeous East/West setting though….so I am going to do some looking around before I work with my jeweler to be sure what I want! Gorgeous rings, ladies! I blame all of you for my new purchase! Innocent That is what I am going to tell DH tomorrow when I tell him, too!

@HelloCarly:  Thank you! Smile As much as I would LOVE rose gold, my left hand wedding and erings are white gold and I think it would drive me a little crazy if the right hand didn’t match so….white gold it is.

@Mrs. Myrtle Beach:  you should check out MasterGoldCraft on etsy. he has a lot of oval ring settings that would look great with this stone.

I don’t own one but it’s one of my favourite stones. This one is on my wish list and I *will* own it one day…
