I was just curious of when some of you bee's out there get your workout on? I am up at four every morning and absolutely hate working out at night (it makes it very hard for me to get to sleep). So I tend to excercise more in the morning ...but I was just curious.

And if you do workout in the morning do you have any tips for an early early bird? :)

I love working out at night.  I'm not an early morning person at all.  Even though I'm not working now, I can't make myself get up early just to work out.  Plus I hate getting all sweaty and gross and don't want to shower at the gym and then get ready for work or school.

I work out in the afternoon.  Around 4pm.  I can't work out at night either.  Keeps me up too late!

I try to do it first thing in the morning, which for me is around 9 or 10, because if I don't, I just don't have the motivation to do it later.

I work out in the morning, usually. It makes me feel like I can get on with my day. I always wake up extra early and sit with a cup of coffee for about 45 minutes, an hour and let my body wake up/warm up a little bit. And it gives me some times to check Wedding Bee :)

Wow, 4am tho! That's really early. I would have trouble getting out of bed that early, so good for you!

I work out after work...usually around 7ish. If I was to work out before work, it would have to be 5am and that is just a no go!

I prefer to work out in the morning when I get up, but my current work schedule doesn't allow it. So I try to work out when I get home ~ 4-5pm, but I find it so much easier to make excuses in the afternoon!

well thank you hilsy85...lol. I'll be honest i've been on my current schedule for around six months and it definately does NOT get any easier. But like Violete said it is just so much easier to make excuses in the afternoon.

i like (well i don't like it per se) working out in the morning..which for me is 5:20am then go to work. I find its too easy to be busy and make excuses at night. However sometimes i double up and workout both in the morning and at night. (I have an elliptical in the apartment so its easy just to get on it real quick for 30 minutes)

I usually work at 630 or 7 am so I tend to go around 6pm. I work til 330 and class gets out at 515 so it's just enough time for me to get over there, change, and grab my ticket for the classes i want. I don't mind working out in the AM but i'm really scrunching it time-wise....i just end up looking half put together for work most of the time

i started going to the gym in the mornings in late january, and i love it. i used to go in the evenings, but i tend to work late and then come home and eat dinner right away, and i get indigestion if i work out soon after eating, and then i'd get tired, so i just wouldn't go. in the morning i'm less likely to make excuses, i just make myself go. fi leaves the apartment at 6:45 every day and i don't leave until around 9, so it's a good schedule.

Twice a day?! You go, krissybee! :)

I usually do late afternoon, after class. The hardest part for me in the a.m. is that I am also so hungry! I feel like I have no energy to use. And I have to wait like 2 hours+ after eating anything  to workout, so I cant do a morning snack. But, when I really have to do a morning workout for some reason, I will sleep in my workout gear. Haha, sounds weird, right? That makes it easier to get going, and I would feel like such a loser changing out of my workout stuff if I decided to skip it!

i find it so hard to work out in the mornings!! especially in the winter - it was so hard to get out of bed when it's grey and freezing outside. I usually work out after work - around 7 pm.

In an ideal world I would get up and work out in the morning every day. I always feel refreshed and ready to go for the rest of the day if  I do it first thing. However, I usually end up doing it in the early evening.

I would love to be able to get up early to work out... unfortunately I am not a morning person.  So I end up working out at night.

I would love to workout in the morning and get it done with but I usually have to be at work by 5:30 or 6am and I'm not a morning person at all so I usually workout after work so around 4pm. I can't go much later than that or I don't sleep very well. On days when I start work a little later I workout in the morning (but I usually don't get a later work shift).

I used to be a lunchtime gym goer, but this year I switched gyms and decided to mix up the routine a little and go after work 3 days a week. The classes I do start between 5.15 and 5.45pm - I'm no good at going home first so I need to go straight from work. Thurs and Fri I do morning workouts (7.15am yoga and an 8am swim) but I'm really not a morning person so the afternoon suits me fine, I don't find it affects my sleep (it's not exercising at all that affects my sleep). The main problem has been changing my eating around so I'm fueled properly for an afternoon gym session - still getting used to that. I think if you can get the food right and it's a time that's convenient to you (otherwise you won't go), that's the main thing.

I get up at 515 to be at the gym aat 530 every morning.  I find that life in the evenings is too unpredictiable to try to work in a work out.

I have been going in the AM for over a year now, and while it isn't very easy to get their early, I feel much more awake and accomplished when it's over.. and then I don't have to worry about it again.  It's literally just part of my routine.

I know a lot of people I work out with will have a cup of coffee before they work out.  They say that it perks them up (one guy has several espressos).  It gives them that little adreneline rush to get in a good work out, then the workout itself helps them to wake up.

I try to look at the shape that I am getting in as a reward for getting up so early.. it helps me to have progress. it's slow, but I look better and feel better!

I would much rather work out in the morning, however I can't ever seem to get out bed. I used to work out at 5am and it was great because after work I had my nights free, but the winter makes it so hard to get up when it's pitch black outside so I have been going after work lately.

I have tried so many times to work out in the morning, but I just can't get going without a shower...and two showers won't cut it with my water bill.  So I like to work out when I get off of work, usually around 5pm.  It's such a beautiful time of day, and I just love being outside then!

Working out at night gives me WAAAAY too much time to come up with an excuse not to go.  I wake up at 5am with FI, take care of the dogs and make coffee (and fiddle around on here...) while FI gets ready for work, then head to the gym around 6am when he leaves for the office.  It's hard to do in the moning, but I know I won't go at night.  Having my fiance up and about helps get me moving around, and then having 30-45 min of activity around the apartment and coffee helps me "wake up".

I'd love to tell you once you get a routine going it gets easier, but I've been doing this schedule for over a year, and every single morning is still REALLY really hard to get my ass out the door (and my gym is only 1 floor down in my building!)

I typically like working out in the morning better and it gets it out of the way forthe day so after work I can go home and relax. However, I wont go earlier than 7am, so I only go when I work the late shift (at 930) otherwise I go after work between 430 and 6pm...

I just got back from my 6am workout! :)

I find if I work out first thing in the morning it gives me energy for the day & I tend to eat better. I find it a lot harder to find motivation after a day of work, plus the gym is usually packed at that time!

I do both depending on how tired I am in the morning. It's so much easier for me to get up in the morning and workout in the summer. I just can't do it when it's dark and cold! I must say it is nice to have it done with in the morning and then I can just come home after work and relax.

I do morning.... and love it... i used to do afternoon until i saw an article on exercise and they said it is best to do so in the morning .... because you use the fat for energy and you burn calories through out the day... Good  luck ladies.....

Hah I would LOVE to work out in the morning, but I am just way too lazy! I usually do something around lunch or mid-afternoon since my evenings are usually full, and at the end of the day it's easier for me to make excuses.

Hopefully I'll be changing my schedule for the summer though. Warm weather = running trails open again, and I have to admit I'm a little too excited for that! XD

man oh man... I'm really trying to find a work out groove. I suck at working out. I hate it. I can never keep a consistent schedule going. I joined my FI's gym in January and I've been like 5 times since then. My issue is... he doesn't get home from work until 6 or 7. By the time we then get to the gym, work out, and come home, its like 8 or 9. Then we eat dinner (so late) and then holy cow its like time for bed almost.... i hate that it totally ruins my night.

But, I am the world's worst morning person. I have to wake up at 8am for work and THAT is a struggle for me. (ducking to avoid the things thrown at my head). When I wake up earlier I'm headachey and feel nauscious. (I also can't spell, sorry). I *know* that I need to bite the bullet and wake up at 6am to work out before work at least 2 days/week (i can get my third day in over the weekend).... but so far i've been unable to actually execute.

I workout in the am and prefer it to the evening workout because I get lazy and find all sorts of excuses or errands to run. I get up at 4:30am to be at the gym by 5am. Plus, there's usually no lines for equipments!

I have convinced myself I am going to START working out but I am not a morning person so it will have to be at night.  I work until 6pm so I figured by the time I get home and settled, it will be around 7:30 when I get started.  However, we eat dinner really late (usually between 9-10pm) - does this totally defeat the purpose of working out??

I always work out after work. I get out at 5, and some days I hit the gym, which is within walking distance from my office, and other days, I go home to run or do a workout DVD.

I desperately wish I could be a morning workout person, but I'm awful at it. No motivation, I slack off and I could care less in the morning. AND, if I did the gym in the mornings, I would have to bring all my toiletries and stuff with me and shower there, which I would destest to no end, and would probably never go. In the evenings after work, while I can always find an excuse not to go, I find I'm always motivated once I get there and have tons more energy.

Unfortunately, I will NOT get out of bed early to workout! I like my sleep to much!

Right now I work out in the evenings - however, my favourite time of the day to workout is late morning 10-11:30ish. But that usually isn't feasible with my work schedule!

I workout at night if it's the weekday. I do not like it though becasue it's always sooo packed! I wish I could do a morning work out but I would have to wake up at 4:30am, work out for an hour, including 20min total drive time, come home and shower and be out the door by 7am. Too rushed for me
