Our wedding is scheduled from 11:30am to 3:30pm.  It's about an hour from where we and most of our family and friends live, so I don't think many are going to be staying over night.  It's also the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend.

I am not quite sure what to do AFTER the wedding.  I thought it would be nice to spend some time afterwards with our immediate family and bridal party, and then go out to dinner, just the two of us, at our hotel, where we will be staying over night.  As we're not going to our honeymoon for two weeks, I thought it would be a nice way to have a bit of time to ourselves (since I doubt we're going to have much time to spend with each other at the wedding itself!).  Plus our hotel has a fabulous restaurant that only guests are allowed to go to, and I'd love to eat there!

Do you think this will be OK?  Is it weird to not plan an afterparty, or spend the time with our family and friends who may be staying over night?

If you have a morning wedding, what are you planning afterwards?

Mr Moo and I are getting married at 10:30AM. At the English equivalent of a courthouse ceremony so we'll be done by 11AM. We're having our reception later, naturally until about 6PM and then we're going to do our getaway and spend some newly married time on our wedding day together at the hotel. We might cave and have dinner with our best man, MOH and our helpers just to thank them for all their work on our wedding but the evening is for me and the Mr to just relax and enjoy. So I don't think that it's weird for you to do that at all! And it'll give you a chance to actually spend some time on your wedding day together.
