OH and I are considering having a morning wedding at a local church starting at 10am and then followed by a brunch reception straight after, on a nice farm or something i would like horses and to be able to see the moutains etc… I am also wanting to have games such as patonque (sp?) croquet (sp?) have light music and very little alcohol…
I am not sure how the whole brunch reception goes and what sort of time line i will need to have, food that should be served etc…
I would love to hear your ideas and get some help, the wedding is still awhile away but i am a big planner so would like to get as much done as i can now

that sounds really amazing!! we’re planning an early brunch type outside reception as well, and we’re thinking of having croissants, fruit, orange juice and champagne, coffee, traditional little greek cakes (as it’s in Greece), and after being inspired by another bee’s photos on here, I want to put pots of honey on the tables with some sprigs of lavender. We’re going to keep it light as it’ll be warm weather and it’ll be a buffet. I’m thinking just for a couple of hours but we aren’t really going to have a strict timeline I don’t think.
i think it can be as formal or as informal as you like – we’re going informal, and we haven’t decided whether to have the cake at the brunch, or the speeches even, or later on at the informal meal.
let me know if you come up with other food ideas! I’d like to be more inspired as well 🙂 x

oh that sounds amazing!
We will say a joint speech but nothing to big and people can speak if they like..
I am wanting to have the food as a causal buffet so people can eat when they like and people can go and explore the grounds go and see the horses or the view, play a few games etc…
I’m thinking of having some nibbles and a juice bar at the wedding venue for people so they don’t stave and end up going to macdonalds on the way to the farm haha, but not sure what food they will be yet.
and then at the venue have the buffet ready for people to eat from the very beginning i like the idea of different stations so there is not a big line for the buffet, I want more breakfast type foods than lunch foods i think
what colours were you thinking of i was thinking yellow and white

no idea about colours yet! I think we’re just going to see what kind of flowers are in season (i.e., inexpensive!) and go with that… I’d like lots of different colours to make it nice and bright but haven’t decided on bridesmaids dresses yet.

yeah i love bright!!
when are you getting married?
I am going to let mine choose their dresses and just give them a swatch of the colour it has to be… i like them all being different, i dont like things looking to perfect and like i spent a lot of time on them lol even though i always do spend lots of time on everything

that’s funny, I’m exactly the same as you – I like a laid back look, even if it takes hours to achieve 🙂
the wedding is june 2012, and i’m either going to have BMs dresses the same colours but different styles, or same style different colours cuz I can’t get my FI to agree for them to all be completely different which I think would be really great! i just want it to be chilled out, lots of colours, everyone wearing something they’re comfortable in, but he says that won’t look good in the photos so it’s kind of causing some problems at the moment! I don’t want everything looking the same and ‘perfect’ cause that’s just not who i am…
