opals.  i’ve never been big on them for myself.  i’ve seen some lovely opal jewellery but never felt the desire for it.

I’m not a big fan of opals either. I don’t really like purple gem stones. i guess that’s amethyst. I don’t mind if they’re very light, or very dark, but I don’t like when it’s a bright purple. I think it just looks… i dunno, cheap? Fake? Childish? Not sure why I don’t like it, just don’t.

Never cared much for Rubies either…

Yellow topaz, which sucks because it’s my birthstone. I really just don’t like yellow in general.

Diamonds, Yellow/orange topaz, mystic topaz, smokey quartz, chocolate diamonds, black diamonds (I’m not a fan of opaque stones). I don’t really like opal either but I have some that I may incorporate into jewelry because it belonged to my father.

Rubies. Not a fan. I don’t hate them, as I have seen some beautiful rings that feature them, but for a red stone I would prefer Garnet as it’s more of a true blood red, & easier to come by with less inclusions.

@mepayne:  It’s mine too! I usually opt for blue topaz- even though it technically doesn’t count. I do like aquamarine and beryl as alternatives (for Scorpios) but prefer them in seafoamy shades.

@nineteen87:  Ooh, I do love blue topaz! I wish it counted! I had a set when I was really little and it wasn’t too bad… the stones were a true yellow instead of the yellow-y brown I see so often now. Blue is still sooo much prettier, though. I’ve thought about getting a garnet (FH’s birthstone) stackable RHR, and then, when we have kids, stacking rings with their birthstones. That could bite me in the butt if we have a kid with a November birthday.

I’ve always hated my birthstone Peridot. This probably makes no sense at all, but the stones look ill, like they were prevented from being something vibrant. I also have a dislike of all yellow stones. But my wardrobe is almost entirely monochromatic so maybe I’m just not a colorful person.
