We’ve all had to wear one. I’m going to look for a picture of mine.
I had to wear a big puffy sleeved, drop waisted, full skirt in green moray taffeta with a white lace overlay. It was painful.
Please post your ugly Bridesmaid or Best Man dress experiences. I’m going to show my Maid/Matron of Honor what its like to have to wear a truly ugly gown.

I don’t think I have pictures, but mine has to be a short sleeved navy number, floor length with navy opera length gloves, pearl chokers, and hair had to be up. It doesn’t sound that bad, but at the time I was 19 years old, and I looked like I was 40. It just wasn’t very youthful.

I dont have a picture because I burned the ones I had but I was in a summer wedding in 105 degreee heat 5 months pregnant in a Ryal Blue full length VELVET dress with White stockings, white dyeable shoes and a French Roll…. Yeah it was cruel and unusual punishment. O did I mention the spaghetti straps from hell and the cape (yes cape) that went with it??

Ooooh I hope someone posts some pics…this could be fun! I don’t have any to share unfortunately.

i really want to see pictures of anyone has them. I haven’t been a Bridesmaid or Best Man so I can’t share 🙁

Luckily I haven’t had to wear one ~ but remember in the 80s the trend was to have peach coloured dresses with big puffed up sleeves.

Sorry I have no pictures of me in the dress as I burnt them all lol. I do have the photo they were based off of though. Imagine paying good money to some China replica place for these hideous things! Our were bright orange.

@secondchances: Oh my I am speechless – that is atrocious.
My SIL made me wear a hideous homemade emerald green satin number (think really christmasy looking) in July – it was awful and hot and she had us wear white leather pumps with it -classy

@secondchances: AHHHH! You poor thing I cant even imagine that in ORANGE!
This thread should be fun!! xo

She was a very insecure bride and told me that she had to pick the ugliest vintage dresses she could find so I didn’t outshine her. LOL gotta love the honesty!

@secondchances: Oh wow! Was it some kind of renaissance theme or something at least?
@secondchances:ughh! It’s hideous! BUT I’m sure you rocked the bright orange catastrophe despite her best efforts:)

@secondchances: Heh… I think it is kind of cool looking…not so much for a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress and not so much in orange. But over all it isn’t totally awful, at least I don’t think. Oh but certainly wouldn’t be for your average wedding, they are very “period” sort of dresses.

OOOH I LOVE IT. SENDING TO MY SISTER
I am glad you guys love it. Too bad I cut it up and crafted with it or I woulda mailed it to ya LOL!
It was a 60’s prom theme. She decorated like you were at a prom from that era (based it all off old family photos). Her dress was actually kind of cool and not too vintagey unfortunately I burnt all photos of me and her because of that dress.
I tried to talk her into these shades:
Instead it was this color:
Could it possible get any worse?
And indeed it can because we also wore hats similar to these: (Another fine China replica)
Picure orange hat with black and green feathers. I so wish I was joking! Now if you followed my dress thread you know I love vintage. But seriously this getup??
LOL at least no pics exist of me in that dress outside her family. I made sure of it!
