Kath and Kim – when Kath’s first husband turns up! I think that was an end-of-season cliffhanger too,

Who shot JR? I mean, that’s one the whole world knows.

Doctor Who, take your pick. Just about every season ends with a cliffhanger.

When I was in college, Days of our Lives was doing a storyline that had cliffhangers every day. You could tell which girls watched, because at 12:59 you heard screams of “no!” echo down the halls.

Buffy season 5 when Buffy dies. that was the year they were still negotiating coming back for another season, so you really didn’t know if they killed her off.

End of the fourth season of the X-Files when it looks as though Mulder has died from a “self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face.”  OMG OMG OMG OMG I was freaking out.

Most annoying would be Terra Nova and Kyle Xy because they were written as.cliff hangers for a new season,  there was no closure or wrap up but then they got cancelled. Also NCIS when we thought they were going to kill off Ducky and a bomb went off at the office and we didn’t know where McGee, Tony or ziva were.

My mom was watching some show on Netflix where, at the end of the season, two of the main characters (who were secretly in love, of course) were talking about something and then both walked back to their cars, which were parked on the side of a road, but spaced pretty far apart. The camera followed the woman, and, all of a sudden, there was a giant explosion from the direction of the man’s car.

And then the show got cancelled.

@peachacid:  My mom went through a phase where she liked to watch shows that were no longer airing on Netflix in her spare time, and stuff like this was a pretty frequent occurrance.

Did anyone ever watch that WB show Popular?

It ended with one of the main characters getting hit by a car, AND THEN THE SHOW WAS CANCELED.
