My dress was pretty reasonable, for what it was, my veil was crazy expensive at £550 ($850-900).

@bump:  It was a heavily beaded cathedral veil and absolutely gorgeous but the vendor was vile.

Aside from my dress and photographer, my most expensive buy was my transport – £600 (around $975) to travel less than a mile to the church, then around a mile round trip afterwards. It was worth it though!

My dress was dirt cheap for a wedding dress ($250), although I suppose if it wasn’t for a “wedding”, it would have cost far less just based on the style.

Our biggest expense is food (and drink). Price-y, I’m telling you. Yeesh! (And yes, it’s hella overpriced. $3 for a can of pop?! Are you effing kidding me?!)

Hiring white chairs for people to sit on at the ceremony!

$7 per chair x 100 chairs and $200 delivery, set up and pack up fee!

Definitely not the most expensive part of the wedding, but a cost we did not anticipate!

I think we splurged on our venue. It’s a historic home from the 20’s in La Jolla, CA, two blocks from the beach. For six hours, it cost 3600!! No chairs, tables, or any rentals, but the rose garden is perfect, and the architecture is gorgeous!

@bump:  My dress was £1500 ($2400) but there was a lot to it (corset, bodice, 3 skirts, 3 underskirts and a matching tricorne hat).

not the MOST expensive thing, but id say pretty darn close to being the most overpriced thing.

those damn chivari chairs. $2000+. but i HAD to have them. and they really made the look complete. i do remember sitting down saying oo this pad (on the chair) is pretty comfy! but really? expensive things. chair + pad + delivery blah blah blaaah.

Probably my veil, how can beads cost so much money (about $130)?!
