honestly $150 isn’t bad for a BM dress… but there are cheaper options… maybe you can have your fsil wear a diff dress that fits your fmil’s budget?

if not, then at the very minimum, i think you should be able to talk to your FMIL about what your options to appease both your need and her budget

good luck!

Does FMIL know why her daughter’s dress is more expensive? Its an awkward situation for sure, but I don’t think you should pick another dress.

bttw..my girls are paying $99+tax

Tell her the order has already been placed for the BMs so that’s the dress you’re going with.  It’s an awkward situation because of the circumstances, but if I were you I wouldn’t change the dress, especially since all of your BMs agreed to that price.

Can you and FI just cover the extra $ for his sister’s dress?

I think her issue might be with paying that much for a dress for a 10 year old – which I can kind of understand. It’s not the same as a bridesmaid, who is usually a friend, who doesn’t mind paying that much, given the nature of the event.

Maybe you all could offer to pay $70 so that the dress is the same price as your sisters? I know that might be a stretch but then she couldn’t really complain about it being more expensive. Of course is she’s the type that would complain regardless…maybe there’s no making her happy.
