Based on the fact that you guys send her some money every month I think it'd be better if you took her shopping. I'm not saying if you guys sent her money she'd find something else to do with it but that way you'll know for sure that she will have something nice to wear at your wedding. PLUS you can make it a nice day out with FMIL and FDIL. I don't know how close you are to eachother but it could be a fun girls day. GLuck!

Any advice about the MOG dress? My FI's mom asked me today what my mom is wearing - color and length - and of course I have no idea. However, it brings up the subject of what FI's mom should wear. I'm sure she can pick out something perfectly suitable; she is a reasonably stylish woman. My main issue is that she is on a fixed income (we already send her a little money every month) and I would like to find some reasonable way to make sure she can get a new dress and shoes without worrying about the cost. We can certainly afford to buy her dress, but I can't figure out any good way to bring that up. Do you think its better to just have FI send her some extra money and say its to help out with dress shopping for the wedding, or should I offer to go shopping with her and let her know that we would like to get the dress for her? What would you do?
