My mom is almost 60 but in kick ass shape. She is very petite and muscular. The traditional mother of the bride long grandma looking dresses would not suit her. Any help or advice? I dont want to get her something too young looking either.. Help!

What help do you need? Sounds like you and your mom should just go out and try stuff on until she finds something you both like!

Has she tried online? I find that Nordstrom has a really, really nice selection of dresses. Perhaps there’s more of a selection online?
Another idea- are there any BM dresses that could work? Some BM dresses don’t look like BM dresses and might work for her?
Nordstrom actually has a section for MOB dresses and they aren’t all frumpy.

My mom is in the same boat. Early fifties, and she looks AMAZING. Seriously, mid forties at best. I don’t know what your mom’s budget is like, but Rina di Montella has some gorgeous gowns that aren’t at all frumpy. 🙂

My mom didn’t want a traditional MOB dress, so we shopped at department stores instead of bridal salons. Actually my mom found a kick ass dress at Banana Republic of all places. Not to mention that it was on sale for only $35!!

My mom is 62 and she had a hard time finding a dress she really liked. She bought one dress at Dillards that I absolutely loved but she thought it was too "fancy" for her so she looked around some more and finally found one she really liked and it looked great on her.

My mom is 50 and HOTT! lol. She likes Siona Garcia for Klienfields (mother of the bride) This is the dress she loves! She does not like the hat (thankfully)

My mom is the same. She ended up getting her dress at Neiman Marcus. We only looked at department stores and boutiques, not bridal shops, and there were lots of options. I was just as adamant about it as she was. I could never picture my mom in that MOB stuff. Yay for all of our hot moms!

Hello everyone! My mom felt the same way – she didn’t want the traditional MOB, so we went to department stores instead. Here’s a link to her dress – I love it!
