My mother wants to give a speech at my wedding, but she feels clueless about it as there are few guidelines online. My father passed away 15 years ago, which is why she is doing it. So can anyone recommend any good sites? Anyone have any ideas for her speech?

When does she want to give the speech? At the beginning of the reception, maybe to welcome the guests? That’s what my dad did. He thanked everyone for coming and gave a bit of advice to the bride and groom (us). It was sweet and funny and perfect.
I’ve also seen parents give speeches around when the Maid/Matron of Honor and best man give theirs.

My dad gave a speech at my wedding. All the speeches were done right at the beginning of the reception. My dad went first, followed by the Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man.
He started off welcoming everyone and thanking them for coming, talked about how beautiful I looked 🙂 and how lucky he was that I had found my husband and he had a new son-in-law. Then he threw in some jokes and gave us some advice on how to have a long and happy marriage, and ended it with a toast to the new couple. It was about 5-6 minutes long. I think it is nice that your mom wants to give a speech in your father’s place!!

She’d be making the speech when the others are making theirs.
