I'm still trying to figure that out myself. The last few weddings I've been to have used: "Wonderful World," "Wind Beneath My Wings," and "Unforgettable," all of which would be special.
We are using Stand By Me but it was a hard decision. My brother danced to my mom in In My Life - Beatles.
Can You Feel the Love Tonight (also Elton John). We are using it as both father/daughter and mother/son.
I say make it as personal as possible! Is there a specific memory that can be referred to? When my husband was young, his mom called him her "sunshine". He picked the song, You Are My Sunshine" for his song with her. It was adorable and made her cry--not to mention strange since a week before our wedding, she sent him a little throw pillow that had the same phrase stitched in it and she didn't know that was the song he picked!
Mr. Cupcake and his mom are dancing to "Loves Me Like a Rock" by Paul Simon. It is very upbeat, which they want so it doesn't turn into sobfest 2008 
I think it's perfect and will keep things fun and light-hearted.
How about "My Girl" by the Temptations (or is it the Four Tops???). Or "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra. Both upbeat, but sentimental and in the right genre for a mom or dad.

My Fi and his mom are dancing to My Wish by Rascal Flats - It is a really great song for a mother/son dance.

My cousin used "Mama" by Boys ll Men to dance with my Aunt at his wedding. Its also the song from Soul Food (the same one mlindsey mentioned)

FI and his mom are dancing to "Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon. He's not too excited about it, but apparently FMIL has been dreaming about it forever!
My hubby and his mom danced to "The Perfect Fan" by the Backstreet Boys. Funny, I know. The words are great though. It was upbeat, much like them : )

If I was male and I had to choose the song to dance with my mom to, it would be...Godspeed(Sweet Dreams) by the dixie chicks! It is a lullaby that one of them wrote for their son. It is so pretty and would make a very nice mother/son song!
