I'm still trying to figure that out myself. The last few weddings I've been to have used: "Wonderful World," "Wind Beneath My Wings," and "Unforgettable," all of which would be special.
I say make it as personal as possible! Is there a specific memory that can be referred to? When my husband was young, his mom called him her "sunshine". He picked the song, You Are My Sunshine" for his song with her. It was adorable and made her cry--not to mention strange since a week before our wedding, she sent him a little throw pillow that had the same phrase stitched in it and she didn't know that was the song he picked!
Mr. Cupcake and his mom are dancing to "Loves Me Like a Rock" by Paul Simon. It is very upbeat, which they want so it doesn't turn into sobfest 2008 I think it's perfect and will keep things fun and light-hearted.
How about "My Girl" by the Temptations (or is it the Four Tops???). Or "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra. Both upbeat, but sentimental and in the right genre for a mom or dad.
What songs are you using for the mother/son dance? FMIL told us to pick one so what suggestions do you have!
