Ugh, My FI and I are lost on this too. He's not sappy, so any sappy mother/son songs are out. I'm interested to see what others are planning.

You could try out 'Proud of Your Boy' by Clay Aiken. (I know, I know; it's old and maybe a little sappy, but it's the only song I can think of off the top of my head. Plus it does fit.)

My husband and his mother are not particularly close and had no idea what to pick as a song. I suggested Josh Grobans "You Raise Me Up" and they both thought it was beautiful. Thats what they danced to and while she never said anything (strained relationship with MIL), my new FIL gave me a BIG hug and said thank you so much for giving them this great moment. :)
How about Stand By Me!!!!!!!! Thats such an amazing song... listen to the John Lennon version!!
