I think the brooches would be a nice alternative.
It will work better if you know what dress they are wearing so you can ensure the brooch will be appropriate.
@SavannahL:I'm giving my mother, FMIL, and the grandmothers all a brooches I picked out for each of them. But I plan to have them use it to pin their corsage on. I thought it would give a nice touch.

I used broches instead of corsages and they were beautiful and everyone loved them, however I did end up spending more though by doing broches....
I love the idea I think its a great alternative... These would look amazing!! go for it.
We used brooches instead of corsages since I was having a brooch bouquet. They were smaller than we originally thought when we ordered them but when our mothers had them on, they looked beautiful. We chose our respective birthstones to give to each of our mothers.
I think that's a great idea! I would give the MOB a different one. I think I like the last one the best.

I was thinking about doing brooches instead of corsages for the mothers. I figure it's something nice that they can keep forever, and it will kind of double as a thank you gift. Also, I'm DIYing all of my flowers so I think the brooches would be easier. What do y'all think of this idea?
Here are some of the ones I've been looking at(all are under $15)
Also, do you think they should all be the same? I was thinking either all the same, have the MOB wear one a bit different than the others, or have everyone's different. I will have 5 all togeher(MOB, MOG, stepmother of bride, and 2 grandmothers)
Suggestions or comments? Or should I just scratch the brooch thing and stick with traditional flower corsages?
