we are! we're actually the day before, but we're doing almost exactly what you just described. We originally thought about doing something during the actual ceremony, but he was against it.
We're planning on giving an actual bouquet of flowers to each of our mothers, and then having a separate basket of pink carnations for the rest of the moms there.

I was catching up on another post where a bride asked for suggestions about honoring mothers during a Mother's Day weekend wedding. Since I'm actually getting married on Mother's Day, I thought this was a great idea, but I'm a little non-creative when it comes to this sort of thing. So far, the only thing I've thought of is to make an announcement during the reception that we would like to thank our mothers and all the mothers in attendance. I also thought we could ask all the children/husbands to come up and we would hand them a flower to give to all the moms from us. I figured we could just tie a little note on to each stem that says thanks and happy Mother's Day.
Any other thoughts? Is anyone else doing anything to celebrate this occasion during their wedding?
