@Anniebo: my fiance and his mother are going to dance to "a song for my son" by mikki verik---i think its a good sentimental tune, but definitely not song I will be jamming out to at the gym 
@Anniebo: For a more current but not overly sappy country song, I'd suggest "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womak or "Let Them Be Little" by Billy Dean. But for really upbeat fun songs there are some classic non-country ones like "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole or "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra. We are looking for a mother/son song that is more current and not overly sappy. Both my FMIL and FI both tear up easily and don't want to be a sobbing mess the whole time.
They are both country fans , and the only two I could think of is My Wish by Rascal Flats or Godspeed by the Dixie Chicks.
We decided against Rascal Flats b/c we are using Why wait as our recessional and FMIL does not think Godspeed pertains to the day her son is getting married.
I am out of Ideas, can somebody help a sister out?
