It's funny, the songs I work out to are not the songs I listen to in every day life. But they have the ability to make me move my butt, and my normal music does not. So although I can't stand to sit and listen to any of these in the car, I can totally zone out to the beat while sweating.
Britney Spears - Circus, Toxic, Womanizer
Sean Paul - Get Busy, Temperature, We be burnin'
i like a nice driving beat. So sometimes that's old-school punk rock (the Clash, the Buzzcocks) and sometimes it's eighties new wave (Blondie) and sometimes it's newer stuff with a happy beat like Vampire Weekend (say, "Oxford COmma" which just makes me peppy).
right now my number one workout song is david byrne/brian eno's new collaboration on a song called "strange overtones."
i also like the remastered disco-ized version of the Elvis song "A Little Less Conversation (A Little More Action.)"
PS: as far as motivational lyrics goes, for some reason the class tom petty song "American Girl" gets me running faster.
I've got these on my playlist:
Moby- Bodyrock
Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man
Bodyrockers-I Like the Way
Miss New Booty - Bubba Sparxx
Homeboy went to HS down the road from me. :p
"Shut Up" by Simple Plan always gets me mad...so I run (re; jog) faster!
I also have songs on my workout playlist that I don't normally listen to in my car.
Songs on my workout list include:
-Bill Conti's Rocky's theme song (listen to when I'm running, I know cheesy, but gets the job done)
-Nelly Furtado, Maneater
-Kanye, Stronger
-Missy Elliot, Work it & get your freak on
-Black Sabbath, Ironman
Michael Jackson, Beat it
-Destiny's Child, bootylicisous, survivor, Independent woman

Hi Bees,
I'm updating my iPod playlist and looking for some new songs to keep me motivated. What song really gets you moving when you're at the gym?
