Well, I just got the go-ahead for the Moulin Rouge themed engagement pictures. Yay! Also, I just started on my Halloween costume this year, which is going to be Satine in her Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend outfit. I'm going to be sewing sequins and beads until October. lol
Ladies, I am wracking my brains trying to find some outfit ideas for the engagement shoot. I have a red satin coctain dress that I bought years ago (that I actually specifically got because it reminded me of moulin rouge) but I want at least one other outfit to be able to change into. So can you help me think of some outfits that can be inspired by Satine's costumes. Here's some of her costumes for reference:

Well, ladies, the day is coming closer and closer. We actually had to reschedule the engagement pics because the theatre that we are shooting them is in the middle of rehearsals and ended up having their set up on the stage earlier than anticipated, but the plan is to have them taken on the 11th now. I'm getting super excited about it all.

Ladies, our photgrapher and I have been communicating back and forth lately, trying to find out what we want to do for our engagement photos. We knew we wanted to do something theatre-related since FI and I are actors.
Well, our favorite movie is Moulin Rouge. Our first dance song is from the movie. We had joked about theming the entire wedding around Moulin Rouge if we ever applied to David Tutera's "My Fair Wedding" and honestly, our wedding still has a bit of a Moulin Rouge feel to it, but SUPER subtle. We are also planning on going as Satine and Christian for Halloween right after the wedding. So amidst some other suggestions, I mentioned Moulin Rouge to him as a subtle sub-theme to our theatre engagement pictures, and now I can't get over being giddy like a school girl. I keep waiting for him to e-mail me back and green-light the idea.
So what do you think? Can I pull off a subtle Moulin Rouge undertone to our engagement pictures? What about props, clothing, and scenery that could hint at it but not be obvious? I need some suggestions. Pictures would be best!
