My husband and I moved across the country about a month after our wedding. It was tough for us, especially since we moved to a place that we have never been to before and didn't know anything about. It sounds like the situation is better for you though since you are already aware of the place that you are considering moving to. Do you have the money to start up a business and cover your expenses before you start making money at this business? This is more complicated than just moving since you have to make sure that you have the money to cover yourself until things turn around. Good luck!
We'll be moving right after our wedding, but it's a little over 2 years off, so no advice here, just commiseration!

My FI and I currently live in the DC metro area and neither of us like our jobs very much. We are also rather tired of the area and our lease is about to run out right after our wedding (within a week, actually!). We have been dreaming about opening a business together in the Savannah area (where we are getting married) since we met and we are wondering if now is the right time to up and move, without jobs, to Savannah to pursue our dream. I know that this is a pretty far fetched idea since we'd be eating into our savings to make it happen, but I'm thinking that all of the stars seemed to be alligned for this as the newest chapter in our lives. Does anyone have any input into what it's like to make such a drastic life change right before or after the wedding? Is this a bad idea?
