What a whirlwind this has been!  Long story short... I am a children's pastor on staff  at a large church.  It meant a lot to FI and I for my boss, our Sr. Pastor to perform our wedding ceremony.  This is a second marriage for me and I have known from the start that I wanted to keep this thing small...30 guests or less...

Here's where things get crazy...My Sr Pastor is also a National Guard Chaplain.  Well, we just found out that he has been called out on some kind of active duty, and will be gone during the time that we origionally scheduled for our wedding date.  He'll be leaving next week.  We've already booked our honeymoon, and have to get married before he goes out of town now!

FI called his 12 guest, I called mine, and everyone could make it this Friday...So, we are getting married this Friday  -  yes, like 3 days from now....So what I am I forgetting?  I feel like it's crunch time and I'm going to forget something huge...HELP!

Ah!!  That's nuts!!  haha I'm stressing for you!  Do you have any other vendors you need to worry about?  Flowers, caterer, reception hall, anything?

Well, I had planned on keeping things simple and low budget anyway...so I've DIY'ed a lot of things already.  I've got to finish the favors tonight. I've got the decorator coming at 7:00 to complete the arch and finish the flower arangements for the halls.  Our reception has completely changed in the last 2 days...Now we are taking everyone to a large italian rest. here in town, and have reserved 1/2 of the dining area for our guests.  Mom and Dad are picking up the tab...yay!  My altarations on the dress were finished yesterday, and I picked it up today.  I've still got to have the dress steamed, but I'm planning on THursday for that.  We went yesterday and got marriage license....

    What else am I missing?

Do you have bms? Right now im finishing up my BM gifts and cleaning the house like crazy since we'll have people in and out of our place like crazzzzy!

How about your hair and makeup? Are you doing it yourself or having a pro do it? Either way you should do a trial or two...

Do you have all of your jewelry, shoes accessories ready?

I'm sure there's more.. as I think of more things I'll come back :)

Sounds like you have almost everything done. What about thank you cards/gifts to give to your family/friends that have helped? Sign-in book for ceremony, unity candle, music for ceremony or other special readings

OMG that is so exciting!!  It's not like a surprise wedding I read about on 100 Layer Cake but it's so fun still in the same that it's now so close unexpectedly!!  I'll try and think---maybe it would be better and you tell us everything you have already?

We did something like this (with a big party this September).  For us, we wanted:

    photographer

    bouquet (DIY)

    cakes

    champagne

    dinner reservations

    people to give speeches

make-up (I DIY'd but bought some new makeup for the occasion, and false eyelashes)

What you want will be different depending on your circumstances.  My biggest advice: don't get so crazy taking together of everything at the last second that you forget to take time to enjoy it.  Let this be an opportunity to let go of the unimportant things.  It's more important to enjoy the day than to have everything perfect.  Have fun!

    historienne -

Good thought.  I just need to take a big breath and enjoy this...

I'm stressing the most about lighting issues in the room that we are using.  We are not getting married in the sanctuary, because it seats 600 and there are only going to be 25 or so guests, I thought it would look silly.  HOwever the room isn't very condusive to lighting situations.  I'm wondering if I need to try to do some kind of up-lighting or something.

STRESSING - AND ONLY 2 days to go!

Would some candles work to make the lighting seem more cozy?
