Paul Feig created the heralded television series Freaks and Greeks, and Judd Apatow gave us Superbad, Knocked Up, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Now, for better or worse, these two hilarious super talents have turned their attention to weddings with a new movie directed by Feig and produced by Apatow. In May, Bridesmaids, which stars Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, will arrive in theaters.
Kristen Wiig, who also wrote the screenplay, plays Annie who's just been asked by her best friend to be her maid of honor. But Annie's life is in shambles (She's both broke and heartbroken), and the last thing she needs or wants is to be a bridesmaid. What ensues is one wild ride down the road to matrimony with the bride and a colorful cast of endearing and not-so-endearing bridesmaids. With the likes of Feig, Apatow and Wiig at the helm, we suspect Bridesmaids will be a summer hit, and we can't wait to see it.
