Thanks Corgi! :) And I just realized that I should have posted this in reception, not the lounge. Oops!
tallahassee!! i live there right now, i'm at fsu:)
anyway, you could do tons of cute stuff with that theme, lots of fun little details
@ashleyjane- I'm at FSU law right now! Some other ideas... have a short movie/slideshow put together and displayed on the screen before the ceremony. Incorporate cheesy romantic comedy quotes into our vows. Have something written about us on the marquee outside (perhaps A Love Story-Sara and Tyler). Still thinking of more ideas.. perhaps cardboard cutouts of celebrities to take pictures with? (that might be a little too much for me though).
- Your OOT bags (if you use them) could be like the VIP emmy bags.
- You could blow up an e-pic like a movie poster for people to sign.
- Walking down the aisle/walking down the red carpet...
...I love themes!
I'm having all Disney music during my ceremony. Get down with the themes, they're great!
The red carpet and E-pics ideas are great! My bf said we should have people throw unbuttered popcorn instead of birdseed or blowing bubbles at the end of the ceremony. I thought that was a great idea!
I've been to a movie themed reception and it was awesome - they used movies instead of table numbers, had trivia on the tables as part of the centerpieces, incorporated a lot of famous theme songs into the reception, etc. It was fun :)
Fun! I think it's a great theme. I'd be stoked to go if I was on your invite list!
Sounds fun. There is a wedding on other blogs that was inspired by the movies. I think they used they idea of the Perfect Catch. Look on ruffledblog I think that's where I saw it. Might give you some more ideas.
That sounds like the funnest wedding ever! I love it!!!!

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I've been thinking more about my future wedding reception (not even close to being engaged yet though), and I came up with an idea that I'm so excited about, and I had to share. In my hometown (Somerville, MA), there is an old movie theater called the Somerville Theater (built in 1914 I think). I was thinking about having the ceremony in one of the auditoriums and getting married on the stage. Then, since I'm looking to have a fairly simple/inexpensive reception b/c my bf and I are both in law school and incurring a lot of debt, having a "snack" reception in the lobby. This theater sells beer and wine so that would be available at the concession stand, and then have all the movie theater treats/candies available for snacks!! Popcorn, gummie bears, snow caps, reeses pieces, rasinets, nachos, pretzels, etc. (kind of like a big candy buffet) Obviously I'd make sure there's some "normal" things to snack on too for people without a sweet tooth or for people who are health conscious, but I think this would be so fun! I'm thinking it would only last a few hours, and we could just set up an ipod for a first dance and background music.
Oh! and for invitations I was thinking about having movie tickets! And you know how they get ripped in half and you keep one part and the theater keeps the other? I was thinking that part of the invitation could be torn off (it'd be preforated of course) and sent back as the RSVP.
Obviously I'm going crazy with this idea right now. haha. What do you all think? Really lame or really fun?
