- Wedding: November 2012
Fiance and I really enjoy going to our community’s Movies in the Park. They set up a big screen in a local park or on the beach, you bring your chair, they sell candy and you can sit out under the stars and watch a movie. We live within about a 30 minute drive of many communities that offer this during the summer and most summer weekend evenings, Fiance and I will drive to whichever is the closest community that’s offering a movie that night. We always keep our chairs and blankets in the car, pack some snacks and snuggle together under the stars. It’s kinda ‘our thing’.
Fiance and I have decided not to have dancing at our wedding. We both come from very conservative backgrounds and neither of us particularly enjoys dancing anyway, so we don’t really feel like we’ll miss it.
We’ve been tossing around the idea of hosting our own Movie in the Park after dinner instead of dancing. We haven’t yet selected a venue so we’d have to make sure that whatever we did choose would be okay with us taking over their lawn for this type of thing, but what does everyone think? I’m thinking we could offer a candy bar with movie treats and play a wedding-related movie. If everyone doesn’t want to watch, they don’t have to and maybe we could arrange to keep some indoor space for those who don’t want to come outside.
I know it’s not traditional, but it’s us…
