I haven’t been on in a while but I trust all of your opinions and generally come here when I’m looking for advice on something!
I got the job I wanted… YAY! But now I have to move from WA state to Wisconsin. We have been trying to figure out what the best way to move is and are considering PODS. Has anyone used them? I just wanted to see what the consensus is/was. Also any other companies recommended would be appreciated!

I haven’t used them… but it looks like a great idea and will potentially need to use them within the next year so I’m commenting to follow 🙂

My Future Sister-In-Law used PODS when she moved from Michigan to Flordia and it worked out great for her. She is the only person I know that has used them. When they drop it off to pack it up they give you the key to the lock so if you are packing for like 2 days you can lock it up at night and it’s super safe. I also know that they get your stuff to where you want it on time also.

Just wanted to update… I was between PODs and Smart move which is a company under Atlas Van Lines. I decided today to go with the Smart Move. Their cubes are smaller – only 6’10” so we would need 3 of them but they load and unload for you and the storage is only 3 dollars a day per cube. PODs doesn’t help you load them and their storage is only monthly. Overall it will cost us 150 more than PODs but I would gladly pay that for them to load and unload for me. Also, Smart Move has 10,000 insurance per cube which is nice.

Ha, I was about to suggest PODs competitors. We did the one through Atlas Van Lines as well and it was quite a bit cheaper for more space than PODs. We got almost our entire 3 BR house of stuff in one though and our movers were incredible.
I know we also went with who we did because they have a temperature controlled warehouse, which mattered to us because it was going to be a couple of months between when we packed and when we had it shipped/unloaded. Might want to check that out if you’re moving in the summer.

We used relocube to move across country and it was great! It was also less expensive than PODS.

My real estate agent used PODS while she was building her current home and loved the service. I think it was worth it for her since she was going to be using the PODS to store her items long term (6+ months).
