So I think that after weeks of stressign out over the fact that I have 5 months left until the Wedding and looking at the growing list of things to do and pay for….we have decided to move our date back. Originally we were planning a July 24th Wedding….now it will be October 16th. By moving it back 3 1/2 months it has given me the chance to breathe! Instead of being behind schedule….now I am a little ahead of schedule! I figured July in California can be extremely hot and it may create a problem while taking pictures at 2 pm. October is still warm…sometimes hot here. It is truly the end of summer in California. It will not be so unbearable hott and it gives me the chance to integrate some of my favorite Fall recipes into the menu (oumokin soup) Yummm!!!
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders! Now I can actually enjoy the planing process and relax!!!

It’s good that you made it work for you guys! Wedding planning is so stressful, but it’s great to find that peace. Good luck with planning 🙂

wow, it has been really goo d to read this. W our wedding was scheduled for may 28th 2011 but we have now pushed it back to september 3rd 2011 to give us more time. We actually just bought a house and we need more time to save up for the big day. good luck!

How did you announce your postponement? Did you already send Save-the-Dates? I’m doing the same thing– pushing back about 6 months. I sent save the dates months ago, so I have to send something out. I just need feedback on what to say. We could go the formal route:
The wedding of Miss Jackie E. and Mr. Michael H. has been postponed.
Or, I’m leaning toward a fun poem (which is much more our personality).
Let the message be relayed.. Our August wedding has been delayed… blah, blah, blah.
But do you think people will think we’re not taking things seriously?
