We are getting married in a barn conversion and our colours are dusty pink and ivory. There will be lots of varying browns as well (beams, tree slices in the centrepieces & table numbers, on the cake etc).
I am planning on getting something like the below for my top table. It will take up some room and it’s cheaper than more flowers! Along the top table I have candles of varying heights and jars decorated with lace filled with dusty pink & ivory wild flowers.
The question is, do you think they will look ok as they are in the photo? I’m DIYing a lot and I don’t know if I have it in me to start another project.
What do you think?

I think they look great unpainted, however, if it were up to me I’d probably just paint the depressions to look like an inlay.

I agree that with your theme it will look fine unpainted! Where did you find this? I love it!

LibrarianBride: I found a shop in the UK that does them (that’s where I am). But they have so many lovely versions on Etsy. Being based in the UK I couldn’t afford the international postage so I had to look closer to home!

If you paint it, I just wouldn’t do white. I doesn’t sound like it would go with all of your softer more natural colors. Your decor sounds really pretty. I don’t know if you should paint them…& I know that was the question, but I really wouldn’t do white.

I would paint them off-white. They look unfinished to me and sorta look like MDF (medium density fiberbaord). Painting the indented parts sounds like a good idea but you’d have to do it perfectly or it’d look a mess.

linnylou_88: In the UK and have no idea where to get things like this. Could you let me know where? Thanks
Also, I would probably paint it but as someone above said, it will have to be a good job to do the indented parts

countingstars: hmmm I agree the inlay would have to be PERFECT for it to work. I don’t think I’m crafty enough!
