i think different shades of green would look great. It would give the look interest while still making the bridal party look unified.

Well, it really depends on you, but different colours can be fun. I let my sister (MOH) choose her own dress and colour because I really didn’t have anything specific in mind. Then my nieces asked if they could be flowergirls … and how do you say no to those cute little faces? 🙂 But they hate dressing alike, and so we chose colours that went nicely with my sister’s dress, and she actually made their dresses. I really liked how they looked together.

I would say the different shades instead of altogether different colors, just because of the idea of one uniformed look. I do love that last picture posted though, very beautiful!

@jackie-o — thanks for posting those!  I’m doing different shades of blue, but hadn’t seen a picture of it yet!  It works 🙂

Obviously, I voted for the different shades of green, that would look lovely too!

Keep in mind the skin tone of your girls too!

That was my biggest speed bump in picking a colour/colour family — the range I’m working with is pale red head through to dark olive toned skin & everything in between– I wanted to be sure that the colour/family I picked would compliment everyone or leave everyone with an option that worked.

Yellows and orangey reds really wash me out & I look sallow [for example], but the ‘right’ red does wonders; so it can be tricky!

I know I’m super late on this one, but I’m doing (3) different shades of green for my bridesmaids!  I got my inspiration from a photo of a wedding Rachel Bilson was in:

My question now is what are my options for the groomsmen’s ties?  I know they could just all wear black ties but that’s pretty boring…  If they all wear the different shades I feel like it won’t pull off the look the same way the dresses do.  But I don’t think choosing one of the greens would look right either.  I was thinking maybe a black tie with some kind of subtle green design in it but I’m having trouble… any suggestions???
