Hello Bees. Wedding planning and the anxiety of waiting for the wedding date has really gotten to me.  Between the nightmares, important decisions and everyone's opinions I hit rock bottom on Friday and made a very important wedding decision.  I told my three sisters, who were first to wear light green and then yellow, to wear any colour bridesmaids dress they want.  I gave them guidelines, their dress has to be knee or calf length.  The following colours were banned: ALL pastels, black, white, grey, brown, silver, gold, bronze...and all patterns.  I asked for a solid happy coloured dress.  There are only 3 of them, and having the same bouquets I thought would bring it all together.  What do you think? Am I nuts?

No, this is a very modern look. It will be fine.

You're not nuts. You've given them fairly clear guidelines, so just let go, and it'll be fine! one less thing for you to worry about! Might be a good idea to encourage them to confer and/or shop together...

Mrs. Powder Puff and her bridesmaids looked great: http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/08/24/love-sweet-love-bridal-party-shenanigans/

Those are good examples of happy and solid colored, I think!

oooh I love those photos of Mrs. Powder Puff's wedding!  Though I don't think of this trend as "modern".  My cousin did it for her wedding in 1998.

I would choose either a color family (jewel tones) or all primary colors, or like Mrs. PP, one pink, orange, green, blue.  You have to find some way to tie it together.

I think it will be fine. I've seen a wedding where the bridemaids wore fushia, hunter green, burnt orange, gold, purple, and royal blue. It was beautiful!

@kirabee THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THOSE PICS!!!!!!!!!!! It looks great.

I did ask for Primary colours. I also said they could wear coral, orange, purple...I said NO PASTELS and no black/grey/silver.etc.

    Thanks for the support gals!

I'm doing it! I refused to be tied down to a colour scheme so I told my girlies to choose (you'll hate this, pastel colours! Haha!) and gave them length and fabric guidelines. I think it's really going to suit our spring time garden wedding! I'm psyched about it!

@MissSparkleSpaniel: That sounds great! I don't hate pastels. It's just wasn't what I was going for!!!

One sis is sticking to the canary yellow. The other says she'll prbly go for coral. Let's see what my future SIL will wear? I wonder what colour would look best with the other two?
