If you registered at more than one place and they were similar stores, what did you register for at each place?
We are going to be registering at Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohl’s and Macy’s. At first we thought we were going to be only registering at Bed Bath and Beyond. However, we wanted Fiesta dinnerware and they only had it available online. My sister really wanted me to register for it some place that carried it in store and Kohl’s has a bunch of the 5 pc set in store. So we registered for that. We were also at a bridal show where you got free things if you signed up for a Macy’s registry so we started one there also. Plus, there are some of the fiesta colors that Kohl’s doesn’t carry, not even online and Macy’s has a good mix of their stuff online and in the store.
Now, Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohl’s and Macy’s all have a lot of the same stuff. Should we just register for stuff at Kohl’s and Macy’s that Bed Bath and Beyond doesn’t carry, or if they have something in store that Bed Bath and Beyond only has online to register there for it instead?
We generally prefer Bed Bath and Beyond because they have the 20% off coupons and they seem to be much cheaper than Macy’s, although Macy’s seems to have a greater selection of in store items.
If you registered at similar stores did you just register for items you couldn’t find at the first place you registered?
I’d also like to register for the KitchenAid Stand Mixer at Macy’s because they have more colors in store, but their regular price is $399 (although on sale right now for $299) and the regular price at Bed Bath and Beyond is $299.

I registered at similar stores (walmart, target, and kohls… yes I know, most Bees don’t go for walmart). I registered for items based on wants (for example, Kohls for fiestaware… Target for the glasses I liked… Walmart for the silverware I liked…) If there was an item that I wanted and wasn’t particular on brand/style… then I went with the cheaper place.

@Cem0930: We registered at BBB and Macy’s as well as amazon. We actually found several things between BBB and Macy’s that the other didn’t carry. BBB was not originally on our list. We had registered at Target but that ended up being a nightmare so we found similar items at BBB and went for it there. We didn’t really think about what to put on each registry we just kind of went with the flow and so far it seems to have worked out well! We wanted to register multiple places to give people options so they weren’t stuck with one store!

I registered at BB&B and Target because some of my shower guests don’t have a BB&B near them. That being said I hate my Target registry (they didnt have many things I needed and their website is soo glitchy making updating my registry a pain). I wish I only had the BB&B one, so I put most of the good stuff I wanted there. I put a bunch of pyrex and baking sheets on Targets.

We registered @ Crate & Barrel for cheaper, everyday dining and kitchen ware, Macy’s for fine china, etc., and Pottery Barn for home wares & decoration (e.g., coat rack, photo ledges, etc.). I used myregistry.com to combine the Macy’s and Crate & Barrel one, and am actually thinking of adding a 4th (although technically, I could just add it to myregistry.com) of Bloomingdale’s, mostly because many of their prices are similar to Macy’s, and they do free monogramming, which is, I think, a nice touch for sheets & towels and stuff (although I’m not sure 4 would be too many, although technically, on our website, it’s only 1 site to click through).
