Since I got engaged about a year ago, I’ve been in my sister’s wedding, my best friend’s wedding, and now another friend just got engaged and asked me to be in her wedding. My wedding is in 8 weeks, and this friend will be getting married 2 months after me. I’m happy for her, but I’m over being in people’s weddings! I said yes of course, but I’m over the expenses, the drama, and having less time and attention on my own wedding. She has already told me she plans on doing her bachelorette party (which will probably cost a couple hundred dollars) before my wedding and wants to make sure it won’t conflict with what I have planned. I can’t help but be annoyed. I just want to enjoy the weeks leading up to my own wedding! Any other bees with me? I just need to vent!

KristenD9: You can always be assertive and say you’d love to attend but you:
- can’t afford it so close to your own wedding
- can’t take the time before your own wedding

You can always refuse to be in the wedding and just be a guest 🙂

Is this girl a maid in your wedding? The costs really do add up, Ive been in you place before…i wish brides woukd be a bit more reasonable with their expectations. I feel like more brides should spend time working towards and planning a great marriage and a little less time planningthe wedding.

Carmela: She is in my wedding which is why I feel obligated. I just feel her engagment is so short so it’s going to be a lot of expenses in a short amount of time and the proposal kind of came out of nowhere. I mean what are the chances that all 4 of us would get married within a year?! Lol It’s crazy.
