I haven’t seen a multiples thread. Maybe you should start one? I know that there are a couple twin moms on WB right now!

If you’re worried about the safety of carrying multiples, remember that twin reductions are an option.

@oldmatron:  ??????? like aborting one baby? oh my goodness…that’s kinda, morbid.

ETA: it sounds like these woman are overjoyed about having twins.  kinda weird you would say that….it’s like writing on an announcement thread saying “you know, if you’re second guessing yourself, there’s always abortion”

@BellaDee:   It’s okay if you’re not against abortion.  Many women with multiples do it do decrease the risks to the babies who would otherwise be competing for space and other resources.  Plus it’s easier on the woman carrying the child.  It’s become common in fertility treatment cases because often the woman is older and has other kids or step kids to focus on at home.  Reducing a pregnancy can be an important step in helping her better care for herself and her family.

@oldmatron:  What the actual ****???  I didn’t express my views on abortion, nor will I because it’s not the point.  The point is she’s trying to seek or start a multiples thread….which would mean she’s EXCITED for her twins.

My other point, was would you give the same statement on another thread announcing a pregnancy…when OBVIOUSLY the OP is happy with the news?

Just find it odd. And unwarranted…but hey, it’s the internet.

PS – Not ALL twins take the health from the other baby…do your research.

@oldmatron:  …that seems like a really odd thing to just “throw out there”. Was there somewhere one of them mentioned wanting to get rid of one of the babies?

Either way, congrats to those having multiples! How exciting! Twins runs in my family and my numbers were high so I was hoping..but only one for me!

@oldmatron:  ?!?!?!?!?!  Holy hell, that is a bizarrely inappropriate post.  “Hey, you didn’t mention being unhappy about having twins at all, but just throwing it out there, you can always abort one of them.”  How about you let her doctor decide whether or not her babies are safe (since, you know, tons of twins are carried safely to term and do not harm one another in utero).

@fresitachulita:  Congrats on your news!  I think a multiples thread is a great idea.  I know there are several expentant bees on here carrying twins. You might not have a ton of people participating, but it would be a good place for you all to talk to each other and touch base 🙂
