Are they still considered controversial? I thought people got over that in the two decades of their whining not stopping breeders in the slightest. Oh well. VERY cute breed, but not the pedigree I would choose.

I do not own one but some friends do. Adorable little guy! Very good temperament and well behaved. The only thing that’s crossed my mind about the breed is….cats are jumpers and climbers, and by stunting the growth of their legs it prohibits them from acting thru their natural instincts of doing so. Which I suppose is preferable to the owners who don’t want cats up on their counters and furniture, but, I still can’t help but think it must be cruel to feel like a cat who can’t do all the cat things cats like to do 😉

 @Sweetjennygirl:

Oh, no, munchkins can absolutely jump and climb. Not as high as a cat with standard legs, but certainly higher than my fat lazy blob cat, and she still leads a pretty darn good quality of fat lazy blob life.

I dont, but I’ve wanted one since I was a kid. They’re just the cutest. Theres also a breed called a skookum. Short legs like a munchkin, but they have curly hair!

@Bracelet00:  that’s good! Like I say, I don’t have hands on experience with them, just something I’ve wondered about. My friends munchkin is sure a happy little guy. I’m a die hard cat lover of all breeds, and these are too stinkin cute!!!

Haha, I’m so obsessed with those little guys. This is my favourite. As in, I want literally this cat. He just has this world-weary expression that’s adorable.

And, did you know you can get Munchkin Folds? I don’t know if I can handle that much cuteness.
