So I come from a super musical family, our weddings are like mini concerts! LOL Though musical I won’t be doing quite that. Just don’t want all that trouble! To play an audio clip instead of live music… well they will be shocked at my wedding! LOL
So out of curious what will or was your wedding CEREMONY Music like, did you have live, Audio (mp3, CDs, tapes, records, prerecorded etc.) or a mix of both?

We.. are still trying to decide too.
We were thinking of a cd [piano version of our bridal song].. but I’m also looking into a pianist, too. I just don’t know if I can justify the extra $300.

@jenilynevette: I know!!! I can’t decide either! I plan to sing, but when I’m nervous, I do better with sound track cause I can practice the death out of it. I just didn’t want it to turn into a concert, with my family and all the drama that also follows my lovely family! LOL so I figure it would be simple and do less live music.

@jenilynevette: Have you look into using a music student, they sometimes can be cheaper. Local colleges etc. I know a couple students that do that, they are pretty good. They can also sometimes get credit or experince for their degree. Just an after thought sorry! LOL

@Jacquelinesc84: Well, I put an add on craigslist, and I’ve gotten a few students.. but those were the $300 ones. I live in a super small area for things like this are super price gauged [sadly!].
Most of the weddings ive been to have either been organ or audio, I’ve never cared either way as long as it wasn’t ungodly loud.

We are just using iPod music. I downloaded some VSQ songs for the ceremony and we will have a friend in charge of playing them at the right time.

Live music, all the way. But I know all the muscians personally, and they would all be invited to the wedding weather they are playing music or not. If I did pre-recorded, I would also have to pre edit, but live muscians can adjust.

I knew that I wanted one of my best friends to play guitar for our ceremony music. He said that electric was easier to travel with, so we went with that. We asked what music he already knew that might work and what he had sheet music for. He had all of the Beatles sheet music so the parents walked in to Lady Madonna, the bridesmaids and bridesmen walked in to Blackbird and I wanlked in to Here Comes the Sun. It was perfect. And easy.

@Jacquelinesc84: our DJ is going to do our ceremony music. So it’s all Vitamin String Quartet stuff that’s on CD or MP3. Likely MP3.

I have a long time friend, that I just found out he plays the piano AMAZINGLY! So I might have him play some before the ceremony. Most don’t realize he plays so awesome and he coming out with a CD soon so I figure it would be good advertisement to a wider group of people! With my family they all want to sing the song ALL the way through so you have these ackward moments they are singing away and nothing going on! Really do we have to sing all the verses and the bridge for the kids walking in? It’s easier to fade a song off, less offending musicians! LOL
Other than that we have a couple songs I’ve chosen, mostly jazzy style older songs… Plus I just love the orginal sound tracks
“Wink and a Smile” (Harry Connick Jr.)- for the Bridesmaid entrance
“Paper Moon” (Frank Sinatra version I believe) -for the Kids entrance
“Beautiful” (Jim Brickman) – for Bride Entrance
I just can’t figure out what I want to do for the Grandmas/Mom entrance.
