I get so disappointed when I go to wedding and I love the couple for being so unique, but the music they choose is cookie cutter…classical, old country, traditional, and boring, or church hymns when they listen to Jay-Z at home. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS?!?!?!
I refuse to play music at my wedding that I don’t jam to in my car everyday. That includes ceremony and reception music. There is going to be rock band at the church, I’m walking down the isle to “Show you Love” by jars of clay. Our first dance will be Alicia Keys, and my father daughter dance will be a Foo Fighters song.
I’m not saying every has to have the same taste, but I’m just tired of cool people choosing the same old boring music. BLAH!!!
I’d LOVE to hear about someone playing music that is unique and FUN!

On my RSVP cards I included this:
“I promise to dance if you play this song: _______________”
And I am SO excited!!! There is such a random array of music and genres–and many I have never heard of before. Once all the RSVPs are in, whatever room is left in the playlist will be songs I LOVE!! I seriously can’t wait!!!

which might explain why i was hearing a techno version of the hokey pokey and the words were “if you have had sex and you like it raise your hand” at my SIL’s nieces wedding (shes 19).
yeah, a bit awkward for those of us in the room that were older than 25 i tell you 🙂

pccl: dude–seriously so awesome!! One of my friends wrote in micro-handwriting to be able to fit 5 songs on the card!! HILARIOUS!!! My aunt and uncle picked a wordless song (The Theme from “A Summer Place”), and I can’t wait to see them dance during it!!!
