My DJ is already asking for a play list and all I can think of are songs that I DON'T want him to play. I just can't seem to come up with many dance songs.  Sure, there are plenty of awesome slow songs to choose from but what about some that are fun to dance to?

Anybody else working on your Playlist?

Hoping for some good R&B/Dance music ideas.

    I love Disco/Funk/House/Oldies!

My dad always listened to "Oldies"  the Gap Band, Earth Wind and Fire, The Temptations, The Pointer Sisters, I love it all! KC and the Sunshine Band! And I love this song too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrL8O9ZvkDA&feature=related

I'll add more when I can get to my playlist at home!! =)

I am having a band and they want a playlist. Guests are wide variety of ages but mostly over 30. Never thought this would be hard. LOL

@DeaconBride: Did your band provide a list of their specialty songs at all?

My DJ provided a list with a variety of genres and man oh man...so many really BAD songs on there! LOL But he did say he would find and play whatever we wanted so now I just have to figure that out!

It may just be my family, but as soon as the Electric Slide comes on, my whole family is up. Even my mothers 75 year old aunt boogies down to it. It's fun.

You don't need to come up with songs to get your guests on the dance floor. That's what your DJ is for. If you have any songs you absolutely have to hear that night then include those.

I agree with the PP - come up with a list of a few must haves and your do not play list and let your DJ do the rest. It's the DJ's job to entertain people and get them on the dance floor. :)
