Still trying to get some music ideas for the ceremony... I'm looking for non-traditional songs. I was thinking I would walk down to "Save Me From Myself" by Christina Aguilera, just the guitar though, no lyrics. But I have no clue for the bridal party, the signing of the licence, the recessional.... I'm lost. Suggestions appreciated :)

What are you and your bridal party walking down the aisle to?

I don't know what i'm walking down to either.

one of my best friends is walking down to Part Of Your World from the Little Mermaid, she's known she would for many many years. Her cousin is walking down to just the piano music of 9 Crimes by Damien Rice, she loves the music (not the lyrics haha)

I was kinda thinking about walking down to Married Life from Up - I loove the music, it's beautiful. But I kinda want my friend to sing as I walk down the aisle too, so I might write my own song... not sure though!!

Ours has to be either classical or religious, so I'm choosing "Clair de Lune".  It's so pretty and ethereal.  Different too!

OK - Sat down with future hubby tonight and we picked our songs!

Processional - Bridal Party - Same Girl by Jack Johnson
Me - Angel by Jack Johnson
Signing the Licence - Save Me From Myself by Christina Aguilera
Recessional - In Your Atmosphere by John Mayer

We hired a guitarist, and all our song choices will just be instrumental, no lyrics. I'm so excited now... I can start to picture it!

We had to find something that worked with just piano/violin so we chose

procession: Edelweiss from Sound of Music

me: O from Cirque du Soleil's O show

recessional: earth wind and fire - september (hopefully this works and the pianist tells me if it won't sound good!)

the song angel was in our dance playlist, but that's a great song as a processional.

my momma really wants us to walk down to canon in D, because I always loved to play it on the piano growing up and she thinks the song is so "me", but it's so common I'm not sure..

No I don't know anyone who would do the song justice! Someone told me about the song too because I had never heard of her and I knew as well. My FI refuses to listen to it so I guess he'll have no choice on the day of. Is someone singing it for you?

Not 100% sure yet since I have well over a year until my date, but so far I'm thinking "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

FI has heard it and he likes it. Yes, my friend is the PERFECT person to sing this song. I wanted her to sing for me anyway, but when I picked my song....it made even more sense!

We had a pretty nontraditional wedding. Here's our ceremony music:

Groom/Groomsmen: The Theme from Star Trek: First Contact

Bridesmaids: Scarlet - Tachi no Butou

Bride - Hikarisasu Niwa - Illusion

-both of those songs are from Shoujo Kakumei Utena, one of our favorite anime series, which just so happens to have amazing music-

Recessional - He's a Pirate, from the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack

My dad and I are walking down to Edwin Mccains "walk with you" I think its so perfect for my dad and I think our recessional will be either Spring by Vivaldi or more nontraditional "This Will be an everlasting love" by Natalie Cole

We are not sure if we're doing a Disney wedding or a Vegas wedding, so there might not be any walk at all!  However, if I do walk, it will be to the instrumental part of Plainsong by The Cure.  We've been considering doing the walk together.

Have you seen the '94 version of Little Women? The soundtrack would make gorgeous ceremony music. :)

Right now I'm debating between traditional songs and non traditional and I can't decide!

If we do traditional it will be cannon in d for the wedding party then 'here comes the bride' for me...

If we go the non traditional route it'll be "chasing cars" by Snow Patrol for the wedding party, the intro to "Such Great Heights" by Postal Service for me, then "Somewhere Only we Know" by Keane for the Recessional...

    Too many decisions!!!

My guy is rather traditional - but I'm the big music lover of the two of us.  I might pull rank of this topic!

I've been looking through all the stuff from Vitamin String Quartet - and their version of Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight will probably be my pick.  The song is beautiful and Clapton has a pretty special palce in my childhood/with my dad - I love the idea of my Dad walking me down the aisle to it.

I havent decided on my processional songs yet but these are the top choices...

cant take my eyes off of you - frankie valli

come away with me - norah jones

look at you girl - chris ledoux

whatever it is - zac brown band

first day of my life - bright eyes

    crazy love - van morrison

for our recessional song we are using better together - jack johnson, and my FI grandpa will be singing our first dance song, probably sinatra?
