I will admit my deep dark secret, I am so tempted by the processional from The Sound of Music. It's just perfect processional music.
Would the Glasgow Love Theme work as intercessional, eg signing of the register? I agree it might be a bit hard to walk to.
What sort of stuff are you into? And what are you envisioning in terms of the beat/tempo for walking down the aisle?
What about the wedding song from West Side?
"One Hand, One Heart."
Make of our hands one hand,
Make of our hearts one heart,
Make of our vows one last vow:
Only death will part us now.
Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start One hand, one heart;
Even death won't part us now.
Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart,
Even death won't part us now.
That is a good one- but one of my friends just used it this summer and I would like to do something of my own!
I like the style of Storybook Love- maybe Fields Of Gold? We have a grand piano on stage and my uncle playing guitar, but my brother can arrange just about any song to work with that! I like a little slower music for down the aisle, but one that will have a 'grand but romantic' sound... does that make sense?
The wedding song from Merrily We Roll Along? It's gorgeous. And slow and romantic.
"Not a Day Goes By"
Not a day goes by —
Not a single day —
But you're somewhere a part of my life,
And it looks like you'll stay.
As the days go by,
I keep thinking, "When does it end?"
That it can't get much better much longer.
But it only gets better and stronger
And deeper and nearer
And simpler and freer
And richer and clearer
And no,
Not a day goes by,
Not a blessed day
But you somewhere come into my life
And you don't go away.
And I have to say
If you do, I'll die.
I want day after day
After day after day
After day after day
After day after day
After day
Till the days go by,
Till the days go by,
Till the days go by!
Anything Goes, Westside Story, Mama Mia and Phantom of the Opera all come to mind when I think "wedding music."
Great idea BTW! for songs from musicals. :)
very cool idea! I was going to suggest the West Side one Too. Are there any from Lion King? Circle of life is all I can hear in my head right now. LOL
Can you feel the love tonight, from the Lion King. That one automatically comes to mind. :)
We are using 'Storybook Love' for Bridesmaid processional and 'At the Beginning' (instrumental) from Anastasia as Brides processional...yay movies =)
The music from Sting's Until (from the movie Kate and Leopold) is really pretty, but maybe too fast? Just a thought.
These are all great! Well now we have some pre-ceremony music and definitely enough for the bridal party.
I didn't think I ever wanted anything like the traditional bridal march, but what do you think of this? It is so pretty!
As of right now it is between this and Storybook Love from Princess Bride and having my FH record it (he has a gorgeous voice) to play.
Les Miserables' "a heart full of love"...never a fan of that song, personally...cosette's voice isn't my style, and marius is too much of a softie, i think, but the song is pretty fitting...
"De-Lovely"! One of my favorites!
"I'll Know" from Guys and Dolls was going to be our processional song before we decided to elope.

We are getting married in a theatre since we met while working on a musical and it was quite fitting for us.
We would like to continue the theme by using music from musicals or movies for the processional...any ideas?
I like Glasgow Love Theme from Love Actually, but the FH thinks it's a little slow. Maybe Storybook Love from Princess Bride?
