AHHHH! This is now the second "dream" thing that I've managed to squeeze into my budget wedding - a Cricut Create!  I wanted the Expression but there was a post today for someone selling a Create for $90.  I talked her down to $75 plus a font cartridge.  She is selling hers to upgrade to the Expression so she didn't mind taking a small hit on the item.

FINALLY something goes right with the wedding planning!

I'm beyond excited to give it a whirl!  I'm using die cut birds on my invitations and I was actually worried about cutting them all by hand - Now I don't have to! :)  I'll post some photos of things soon!

(and my first "dream" item? our venue has Chivari chairs!)

That's awesome! I returned my cricut after I realized I probably wouldn't use it. But I'm kind of regretting that now. Oh well!

    Congratulations.

I have a Cricut Expression on the way from this site: http://www.cricut-craftsdirect.com/servlet/the-Machines/Categories

I am hoping to have it by the end of the week. I ordered the Infomercial Bundle because it comes with two full cartridges and a bunch of other stuff. They also have a new cartridge called "Tie The Knot" that I ordered, so I can do invitations and other wedding related items.

You can't create your own shapes to cut out, can you?  I'd like some starfish cutouts for craft projects but I dont' think they have any starfish and besides it's kind of hard tojustify for just one tiny detail.

LoriLori, cricut makes a computer program that will let you make designs on your computer, I think. But it only works for Windows. There's a third party software caleld Sure Cuts Alot that will let you modify any vector drawing for use with a cricut. Some people have made some REALLY amazing things and it was almost the thing tha made me keep mine, but ultimately the program is 70$ and I couldn't justify it.

Well, like you Lori I needed a single shape - or so I thought.  Once I really looked into how many things I could use it for, I decided that if I could find a good price, I'd get one.  I actually picked it up today and will be giving some feedback on it after the weekend.  I can't wait to play with my new toy!

Hey, just a quick testimony...I just purchased "Sure Cuts A Lot",  LOVE IT!  LOVE IT!  LOVE IT!  I can cut any font or any outline of picture that I can get on my computer.  If you have a Cricut, check it out,  NEVER have to to buy a cartridge again!!!!
