- Wedding: October 2017
My lover and I are not big on the hugely romantic part. Years ago we had discussed that if we were still together when I came of age, that we would consider ourselves engaged, to be married in a few years time.
I had completely forgotten about the conversation as neither of us truly care about getting married. Shortly after my birthday he bought a ring for me and now I’m waiting for it to get here from the jewellers. (It needed some modification before I could wear it.)
The two of us dont really want to have a big wedding, and I brought up the idea of getting eloped in Vegas, (we’re unique people). After this I discussed just not getting married at all, being kind of a common-law thing. As for a wedding date, I have one chosen in case we change our minds. Three days after my 21st birthday, two days before his birthday, and a Friday the thirteenth none the less. 🙂 I mean, even if we don’t get married and people assume we are, at least we’ll have a memorable date to tell them.
Is is it bad of me to have not wanted the huge proposal, or to walk down the aisle? I do want to take on his last name, but I don’t like the idea of needing a licence to promise myself over to my one true love.
