I just had to post my ring SOMEWHERE on the Internet because my mother is out of town right now, I want to wait to change my status and show her my ring in person!
Mr. Rocker took me to all the big name diamond stores and even to Tiffany’s, but I’m not a diamond girl by any means. I think they’re lovely but too expensive and too much negativity tied with them.
After another day of unsuccessful ring hunting, I asked mr. Rocker to get off the highway so I could go browse in an antique store. The first case when we walked in had my ring in it. I assumed it was amethyst and asked to see it. Turns out the original box and paperwork went with it–it was from a jeweler next to the office where my great-grandparents first met and fell in love. The sales slip said its from 1948. Imagine my surprise when my now fiancé buys the ring! Only after he proposed did I notice the color change!
I adore our one of a kind ring for our one of a kind love story.

That’s such a lovely story. Do you have a picture? I ended up choosing a diamond, but I’ve always thought colour change stones like alexandrite were so interesting and unique.
