Oh, I love the bells on your veil -- what a cute touch! And your dress is a beaut! I got a vintage dress off Etsy as well -- it was sold as a '50s dress but my seamstress said it's in more o a late '30s style. The shape is similar to yours, though the sleeves are less extravagant. :) Real vintage rocks!

No that's not me wearing the dress. That's an Etsy model from the Etsy store. But i'll make sure to post pictures of our wedding day.
Below are a couple of pictures of the orginal owner wearing the dress. I was told by the shoppe owner that the son said his mother married late in life. She was 33 years old. Enjoy the the pictures and Thank you for your comments!

I LOVE this dress and all the accessories match it perfectly. I too am a sucker for a bit of history and adore the original photos and invitation. Do you think you'll make a invitation thats in the same style as this?
@Mrs Eye wannabe: No, My fiance and i decided on the invitation pictured below. You can find many more vintage designs on "GO GO SNAP" Etsy shope. The lady Julie has many more wonderful designs. She can also do custom work like change the hair color and etc. We have a date set with the church but we're waiting for some paperwork to come in in order to confirm our date that we put on hold. So i'm looking forward to having our invitations done by this etsy shoppe.

I found my wedding dress on Etsy.com. After searching on Etsy.com for a couple of months, I finally found my dream wedding dress. I even got the history behind the dress as well. Turns out the son of the lady who wore the wedding dress took in a couple of dresses of his mothers to a vintage shoppe and sold her dresses and a couple of hats. I asked the shoppe owner if i could get pictures of the mother wearing the dress and she told me she would e-mail the son. The son said of course and sent me two pictures. One of her alone and another one of both his parents on their wedding day. Also along with their wedding invitation. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
As for my wedding veil. I purchased it on Ebay. It was was made in the 1930's in scotland for a soon to be bride. But she ended up wearing her aunts veil instead and the wedding veil was stored away until it was found and listed on eBay. The wedding veil has some awesome sticthing you rarely see anymore. The veil is in mint condition and i feel very lucky to have it and be the first one to use it on my wedding day.
I plan to wear a navy vintage hat that i purchased from Dolls and Lace.com. I plan to attach my veil on to the vintage hat and then after the ceremony take the veil off and just keep the vintage hat on.
As for my shoe's, i purchased them on eBay.com. They are 1940s deadstock pumps.
For my accessories i plan to wear two bracelets i purchased from Etsy.com from Cymbaline's Designs (WWW.cymbaline84.etsy.com).
So for me searching on Etsy.com and eBay.com for my vintage wedding dress and accessories saved us alot of money. I only spent less then 800.00 on everything.
