So im Super excited to be turning 21 the day before my wedding, but at the same time a little sad. I wont get to go all out on the night before my wedding. Im thinking of not drinking anything on my birthday and waiting till the reception and announce during a toast that "this is my first legal drink!" I will make sure to be holding my and my FI son at the time just for added kicks. lol. Ok this post is kinda pointless, I just wanted to say something about it.

At least you have both of those things to celebrate together later!  I didn't do anything for my 21st birthday (not a huge drinker anyway).  My birthday was 4 days after my wedding (22nd).

I had a giant midterm on my 21st, and one the day after. No drinking for me! Not everyone goes bar-crawling on their birthday. I do think a line about your first legal drink would be funny, as long as everyone knows you just turned 21!

haha! yeah, id wait till your reception! my 21st bday was the only time in my life i got black out drunk - had to be carried home, then at 9am in the morning had to be on a flight alone to Kentucky (from NY) on thanksgiving with the worst hangover ever!!!!

    It was awesome though! haha.

i'm not a big drinker so 21 wasn't huge for me (even though i went to vegas- i went with my parents and their friends and my sister). are you having a rd the day before your wedding? you can still have a glass of champange or something there, you don't have to go crazy, but i think it would be nice to have a drink on your 21'st!

I turned 21 recently, and it was the first time I had more than one drink. The morning after was awful. I only had four drinks, but man, it was enough. It doesn't have to be a big deal- enjoy your legal toast at the wedding, and then have an awesome honeymoon of ordering tons of drinks!! haha. maybe you can re-create it when you get home, with your girlfriends? put on a birthday tiara, etc? nobody else has to know its not your bday ;)

I definitely wouldnt drink the night before your wedding!!! But, at the same time its really fun to get carded and be legal SO maybe you could go to the hotel bar the night before for one drink! Because at your reception theyre obviously not going to card you!

Well if you already drink you might as well get a few FEW drinks (have one of your bms make sure) that night :)  if youre not used to alcohol then maybe put it off...even past the reception because you dont want to be trashed at your wedding.  tipsy, okay, but not gross lol.

If you want to go out and go to bars and stuff, put that on hold!

My sister and my cousin in law took me to a bar. I had a free birthday drink it was fun! You should wait to have your first drink at the wedding. You will be celebrating two milestone's one marriage two 21 year old birthday. Congrats!

Bdays are overrated (just my opinion haha) and my 21st wasn't great... not bad but nothing to rave about.

Definitely don't go all out though! you'll regret it if you are hungover!

I think you should put the wedding off....my 21st was a shit-show and I wouldn't trade that experience for the world :) Haha congrats on the double celebration!! Find another night to celebrate your drunkeness...you'll be legal to drink forever now, you only get married once! You definately don't want to be hung over for that!

I agree with the other bees when they say to wait for your reception! It would be awesome to celebrate both at the same time!

my 21st was four weeks before our wedding, so I had plenty of time to enjoy my birthday and a bach. party before, but I think it will be fun to celebrate at your wedding for the first time.  Then you can enjoy it all honeymoon when you can sleep in and have a hubby to take care of you :-)

I went out at midnight of my birthday, got black-out drunk. Then I wend to dinner with my fam the next (day of bday) day and my mom made be order a drink. I was still hungover from the night before. What was funny tho is they carded my sister who is 18 months older than me and they didn't card me. Then we went out again that night. It was a blast!

My friend's 21st birthday was the day *after* her wedding... crazy, huh? But she was pregnant, anyway, so I guess it didn't really affect anything, since she wasn't drinking because of the baby. Wink

My wedding will be two weeks after my 22nd birthday. For my 21st FI took me out to dinner and ordered me a "mexican flag"- it's tradition in his circle of friends to do this shot as your first legal drink. I loved the dang thing, but it was my first legal drink and I'll always remember this flaming little drink. hehe. Maybe you should have rehearsal dinner at a restaurant with a bar and order your first drink there. You can drink, just don't get drunk. I've never been drunk and I had a suprise 21st b-day party (thank you Mr. JB!) with tons of alcohol. You can drink just know your limit.

Our legal drinking age is 19 (18 in some provinces).  I think it was a Wednesday or something, so I didn't bother going out until the weekend.  Just saying there's plenty of time for legal drinking from here on out!

You will have plenty of opportunites to celebrate being 21.  Your wedding though is a once and a life time.  If you want to go out and have a 21st bday party do it after your wedding, and have a big party.  No one will care that it is not your exact birthday.  Have fun!
