In general, I’m not really confident with my DIY skills, but I’m so proud of this DIY wedding project, I wanted to share it and encourage other brides to DIY wedding flowers.
I decided on doing my own flowers for the center pieces since I didn’t want to spend so much money and we needed only 8 of them. It was nerve wracking, but so so worth it!
This was the material I started with, I ended up needing like twice the amount.
This is a close up of the different flowers:
Sorry for the strange pic of the last ones, I forgot to snap them at home.
I bought my flowers at a local store for pretty much no money. Most of the flowers I used were 2€/ package, even the roses, but I bought way too little in the beginning, so I had to rush to the store again. I ended up needing 11 packages, with some 3 and 4€ flower packages.
DIY center pieces are not difficult with an easy design like I had, but the preparation is so time consuming. I spent 1.5 hours trimming and cutting the flowers. Arranging the 8 center pieces took about 1 hour. We used IKEA glasses as vases, so I don’t end up with a ton of vases. I loved the result, and we gave the flowers to our guests after the party, so all the lovely flowers didn’t go to waste.
This is a picture of a single center piece (minus the strange berry stuff that I added later).
All the flowers ready for transport!
If you also DIYed your wedding flowers, I’d love to see them!
