- Wedding: July 2013
The reception was held in the ballroom of the hotel. We had a live band, seafood buffet, dessert bar and an open bar. The band were good, they had played an amazing acousitc version of Use Somebody by Kings of Leon when i walked down the isle.
The speeches were emotional and i cried alot!
My centerpeices were orchards in water. We had table names instead of numbers. The table names were names of GPS waypoints that aircraft use to navigate. We chose waypoints between Nadi, Fiji and Sydney, Australia as a bulk of my relationship has been long distance between Fiji and Sydney. My husband is an airline pilot but the GPS waypoints was my idea.
Our placecards were luggage tags that a majority of my guests put on their suticases on the flight home
My wedding was kid friendly. Kids were given wedding themed activity books and crayons with their names on it. We hired 4 babysitters for the 20 kids who did activities with them.
Men were given flipfllp bottle openers and women were given Pure Fiji Soaps as favours.
We had an engraveable guest book frame. This was a huge hit.
My cake was 4 tiers and seashell themed. The layers were either banana, tropical fruit cake, vanilla or chocolate with buttercram icing. The cake was delicous.
My MOH caught my bouquet, her boyfriend (my husbands groomsmen) was shocked!
After the bouquet toss, everybody got down on the dance floor.
And then it was time for our exit. Everyone linked arms and we walked under them.
And that was that…it was all over! 4 days of wedding festivities. We were so tired.
I hope you enjoyed my recaps!
