- Wedding: June 2012
My $6,000 dollar wedding for 100-150 people
Venue- $125 (local community center) it is actually really nice
Food- $1500 for 150 people 1300 for 100 (we will see how many wedding guests we will have) from a local yummy Mexican restaurant. Providing plates/silverware
Alcohol- free (gift from father of the groom) we live 7 miles from a local well known brewery so beer is cheap!! Wud up Schell’s/grain belt beer! We also live in a town with a winery so wine is also cheap. Also buying cups
Reception dinner- groom’s father is also paying for. (Pizza and beer so also relatively cheap.)
Decorations for venue- $1300 (includes setting up/and takedown) (hiring company for this cause I just do not want to deal with it on my own!!!) Venue has tables/chairs
Flowers- $300 ordering from Sam’s club DIY
Invitations- Bought for $35.00 @ Wal-Mart on clearance + 30.00 in ink? (DIY)
Postage- ball parking around $150
Wedding programs- paper was $15.00 + $30.00 in ink?
Wedding cake- free from best friend of the bride (probably donate $100 though)
Brides wedding attire- $300
Grooms haircut- free (I do it)
Grooms wedding attire- $150
Bride’s hair and makeup- approx. $100 with tip
Photographer- $300 with free engagement pictures and ownership of photos- (print them ourselves later)
Priest- $200 optional donation to the church (we are choosing to give the church money)
Gifts to the bridesmaids- about $150 (I am budgeting 50 dollars per bridesmaid) could be less $
Joe’s gifts to groomsmen- about $100
Band- $300 for three hours of play (plus food and alcohol for band –including them as wedding guests)
Renting speakers/player from local place for after the band plays- $150 plus tax
Approximate estimate- $5,235
That leaves $765.00 for hotel room for bride and groom (our place is being taken over by family!). I also need to leave $$ for lunch for wedding party/parents which we can do on the cheap (I work @ a deli part time so I am sure I can get a good deal.) I feel this budget will leave room for any overlooked expenses.
I am not doing hors d’oeuvres’, a candy table, and we have decided against favors (only because I am not sure what to do- free alcohol is good enough right?) We did not send save the dates cause everyone already knows we’re getting married. I also didn’t include our rings in this estimate because we bought them already on overstock.com for $300 dollars. (14 K gold bands we got a really good deal!)
Please note that items are cheaper than “normal” because I live in rural Minnesota.
My question is am I missing anything?
Also please share your wedding budget. I am really interested in how much things cost. Everything adds up soooo fast!
