This is my current idea for my bridesmaid gift. I debated long and hard over gifting to my BMs. I'm still a little resentful over their lack of support or interest after asking to be in my wedding, but I'm trying to make the best of it! Besides, I do really want to get something for my MOH who has actually been trying to help. And if I get something for her I know I need to get something for everyone.

So my idea is to purchase the monogram cups from Anthropologie (all my maids are "J")

The moleskine notebook I found on Etsy, and is screen printed, but I plan on diy'ing it with my micro Sharpies in a teal color that matches the wedding better vs. red. In case you were wondering the Chinese txt reads "Love is Freedom" Which I think is just perfect, one because this is a wedding and two, because I'm Chinese and our theme is vintage/avian/ Chinese garden. The notebook is small so it will fit just perfectly in the cup.

Then I plan on diy'ing the necklace and adding a briolette in one of the wedding colors (dif for each girl) to the necklace. That will also be wrapped and stuck in the cup.

Finally, caramels. Because who doesn't like a treat? I also plan on DIY'ing these Tahitian vanilla fleur de sel caramels. Nom nom nom. ^_^

So what do you think? Think my girls will like them? I think the cost for me will end up being pretty reasonable, w/o looking cheap at all!

What a great group of gifts for your girls!  i would LOVE all of these items.

I'm sorry you're not feeling like they're being very involved or supportive, but hope things turn out for the best.

    Either way, great gifts :-)

I think your ladies will LOVE them!  Your selections are so thoughtful and ties in beautifully with your wedding theme.  :o)

Hopefully they'll start to show more excitement and involvement now that the date is getting closer.

Thank you for all the compliments! I'm trying to get them excited by taking them on a special shopping trip in San Diego (the FI is moving there in a few months) this Spring. We're going to purchase all their accessories and my mom's MOB's dress. If I feed them and take them shopping they have no choice but to be excited!

    Hopefully it works!

They only thing I'm sad about is that the "J" cups (which are only $6 btw, and everyone needs to go buy one right now) won't be back in stock till May and I want to play with them now! Maybe an excuse to buy one for myself....

My soon to be aunt designs jewelry for a living so I'm hoping she can help me put the necklaces together so they don't fall apart.

Love, love, love everything! Especially those mugs! I might have to steal them actually...I got my girls shower gel (giving them each a bottle from philosophy's "bridal party" set), a necklace, and I'm thinking of getting them a gift card to the salon where we're getting our hair and makeup done as well. I have been looking for something cute to put it all in, but didn't want to go with a clutch or tote or anything like that. The mugs are adorable and would be absolutely perfect, and they would totally all get great use out of them!

Great job! I would love to get a gift like that, and I'm sure your girls will as well!

@whitehydrangea - I was just smelling that the other day. Ok, that sounds strange. I love the bubbly, I think it was, shower gel. Smells so good! If you need a J I'd pre-order them quick b/c every time I look they're always sold out!

    @Gerbera - Thank you!

@krissybee - You have have no idea how good it is to hear someone say that it looks even mildly cohesive. For such a long time (ok, six months... stop exaggerating crazy woman!) the style has NOT been coming together A lot of good ideas with no direction. My old inspiration board (it's huge, we stuffed it behind my couch) is out of date. I need to make one to capture everything new. Maybe I'll take advantage of my snow day (7" in sunny CA) and I'll finally make a new board. Thanks for the push to do it. I'll post it asap, I'd love your feedback!

@zhongliqiu- aww, your welcome!! its true though, i'm loving your entire concept and approach to all of your details. As a designer at a branding/marketing agency, i think in "branding" and design package terms (well you know the drill !! ) and thats how i'm approaching all my wedding details too. I love how thoughtful everything is and its most certainly cohesive in "feel" and concept, and trust me, i notice!! Like i said, i'm keeping my eye on you... you are wonderful inspiration!

    :)

@krissybee - Haha. I understand! Every time my FI and I discuss the wedding I end up saying: "But is it cohesive? What does it say about us as a couple?" And my Fi stares at me blinking. I love branding. ^_^ Even if other people don't notice, we will, right? That's all that matters.

yes, its true.. we will notice and that is all that matters.

I have that initial cup in my initial and i love it! i won't use it for drinking because i am afraid of ruining it's cuteness! anyway, your girls are going to love you gifts. Great ideas.

@dmp777 - I'm so glad to hear it's just as cute in person! You wouldn't happen to have a small 3.5x5" Moleskine would you? I'm slightly worried about it fitting into the cup. Anthropologie says the cup has an opening of 3.75 so I'm hoping it just barely fits and I can stuff the bottom of the cup with those funny pieces of colored shredded paper they sell for gift baskets. I'm going to wrap the whole thing up in cellophane so if it doesn't fit terribly well at least it will all stay together.

I don't have a moleskine...sorry. But if anything maybe you can slightly bend it into the cup withought ruining it? I am sure you will be able to make it work somehow. If it doesn't fit maybe you can tie a ribbon around the moleskine and the cup to hold it together. It will work out beautifully in the end.

@dmp777 - That's what I'm hoping! They're pretty flexible so no doubt they'll fit inside, if not I love your idea of tying it to the cup! I could put the cup on top of the Moleskine add the candy and jewelry to the in side of the cup, and then tie it on top with a big bow. Thanks for the idea!
