I am so weirdly proportioned. My issue is: I have really big arms for my body – the ONLY part of my body that you can see in a wedding dress! I COULD lose weight… but I have a really small chest (32A) and I’m worried that if I try to lose weight to get my arms down my boobs will all but disappear lol. I thought about just toning my arms specifically but I’m worried the muscles will actually make my arms look bigger! I know women don’t tend to bulk up but I have an athletic body type and I DO get chunky (just in the arms and legs, never in the torso). Any bees with a similar body type? Any advice?

I bet when you’re 80 you’re going to wish you had the body you have right now! 🙂
Seriously, though, you probably know you cannot spot train (aka just make your arms thinner), but overall you can lose fat. If your chest goes down more, that’s what padded bras are for!

I have the same problem. My arms are massive compared to the rest of my upper body. I also have very little upper body strength. I tend to find that when I lose weight, my upper arms are the LAST place I lose weight from too.
I too used to be afraid that I would ‘bulk up’ by doing weights, but unless you are lifting some seriously heavy weights/taking steroids, you shouldn’t bulk up.
I would spot train and do lots of upper body exercises with weights. You should be able to see results in a few weeks 🙂

What about a dress that isn’t strapless?

Try using free weights, low weight and lots of reps. You won’t bulk up, I promise 🙂

I have big arms too and a personal trainer once told me that the key to shrinking is low weights and lots of reps. I was losing weight at the time, so I can’t be certain that it helped since my arms got smaller but it could have been from losing weight, too.

you are your own most ruthless critic, i bet nobody else notices your arms

I have the same problem, in clothes I have to wear a size up or stretchy tops to accomodate my arms and it will be big on my belly. Ugh.

I am slender but I have a tummy that does not match the rest of my body — body issues are tough to address. Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a tool that you could just zap and make the problem go away? (I guess lipo kinda counts )
